The Metro Club

201-59 N 8th Street

The Metro Club, a uniquely designed 10-story edifice comprised of joined circular structures, rises next to Franklin Park just north of Center City East. After the beautiful marble-floored and Neo-Romanesque steel-craftwork lobby, a sleek elevator ride up welcomes you into pie-shaped chambers with 11’ ceilings and dark hardwood flooring. A cozy yet spacious kitchen makes for easy maneuvering with ample prep-room. And the view of the city skyline designates both a homey and cosmopolitan feel. (Prime location to boot!).

Right outside The Metro Club, you’ll find Franklin Park, a sprawling parkland with merry-go-rounds, jungle gyms, stone tables and wooden benches—great for kids, dogs and relaxing. Just 4 blocks south you’ll have access to the Market Street Subway line and various bus stops. And en route lies Chinatown, with the Reading Terminal skewed a few blocks west. To name a few of my favorite places around the Metro Club:

  • Franklin Park: Merry-go-rounds, large parklands, festivals. Great for kids and dogs!
  • Charlie’s Plaza: The healthier choice for great-tasting Chinese food.
  • The Gallery: It’s a mall! It’s got everything! Eat and shop to your heart’s content!
  • Haunted Tours of Old City: Apparently remote mountain houses and suburbs aren’t the only places haunted! Boo!
